Saturday, March 20th, 2010Your atlas model 1410 tv & radio tower should be erected beside one of the turns on your track or, if your track is fairly elaborate, at some difficult to negotiate location where the action usually stays exciting. You’ll be able to keep your TV and radio personnel at their posts by means of a false sense of security if you stack a substantial pile of atlas hay bales between the track and the tower. Otherwise everyone aboard the tower is apt to join the birds each time one of the cars loses its grip and comes sliding in at it.

Thursday, March 18th, 2010Your atlas model 1409 officials stand should be located at a central site on your track’s infield so as to command a clear view of the entire track thus enabling the racing officials to observe, through the large second storey windows, any rules infractions which might occur during a race. Much of the official race business is conducted over the downstairs counter. We do not know of any exactly alike full size officials stands or buildings. Many appear to have been designed without resorting to the services of an architect and it seems as if the two most important design criteria were:
- Get the officials up in the air where they can see
- Do not use any more money than necessary to do so
So, we swiped some ideas here and there from several full size stands and added a few of our own to come up with a very authentic officials stand – it doesn’t look exactly like any other either.
