After you designed and built your HO slot car track layout you needed some scenery to enhance it. You could purchase individual model kits and accessories to accomplish this task. Atlas also condensed and repackaged all of their scenery into two large accessory sets and named them the Landau & Grand Prix. The Landau set was comprised of the Bleachers Stand, 24 Figures, Officials Stand, Refreshment Stand, TV & Radio Tower, 4 Hedges & 12 Bales of Hay. If you, the hobbyist, intended to buy all of these structures & accessories separately purchasing the Landau HO Motoring Accessory Set 1401-595 provided a better value as it saved you almost 11% over the individual retail prices. The overall dimensions of the box is 18 inches long by 14 inch wide by 2 inches tall.

With just a few packages each of the bales of hay you will be able to quickly add some very attractive touches of authenticity to your motor raceway. Generally speaking, the hay bales are located along the turns where a spectator area is located. The hay bales should be stacked in front of any track side structure such as an Officials Stand or a TV & Radio Tower and also between the track and your Grandstands. The hay bales protecting the grandstand spectators should be arranged in a fairly orderly straight line with an occasional bale knocked out of alignment. In front of the other buildings the bales look best if not too uniformly arranged. Technically speaking, each one of these beautifully molded scenery sections are a hay bale bundle each consisting of 12 hay bales. Each fulvous colored hay bale bundle is soft and pliable and measure 1-5/8 inches long by 3/8 inch tall by 1/2 inch wide at the base and tapers to 7/16 inch at the top.

With just a few packages each of the colorful green hedges you will be able to quickly add some very attractive touches of authenticity to your motor raceway and, at the same time, protect your autos from damage should any of them leave the track on a fast turn. Generally speaking, the hedges are usually planted along the outside of any turn. If you like, the hedges may be secured in place with very small nails. Use flat head nails and not brads. Each hedge is soft and pliable and measure 5-3/4 inches long by 1 inch tall by 1/2 inch wide at the base.
